Mecanismos Celulares y Moleculares que regulan la Función Hipofisaria

En nuestro grupo de investigación se abordan diferentes aspectos de la endocrinología celular y molecular con un enfoque particular sobre la fisiología normal y tumoral de la hipófisis.

El desarrollo de estos estudios contribuye al conocimiento de la homeostasis de esta glándula la cual manifiesta un continuo remodelamiento para suplir las demandas hormonales en diferentes estados fisiológicos. Además, se analiza la participación de mediadores intracelulares y mecanismos intrínsecos involucrados en el control del crecimiento tumoral adenohipofisario, patología frecuente en la población.

Los objetivos que se plantean en las diferentes lineas en ejecución están orientados de modo tal de poder contribuir al conocimiento de la biología celular y molecular de procesos fisiológicos y patológicos adenohipofisarios desde perspectivas novedosas con posibles traslados a la identificación de blancos terapéuticos y/o biomarcadores del desarrollo tumoral hipofisario.
